Dynamic Air Intake Scoops for BMW E60 E61 2004-2009

Factory air ducts are "passive," meaning they require a vacuum to draw fresh air from the vents to the filters. If your factory box is intact, air scoops won't do much for your car, as the vacuum is strong enough to supply fresh air to the filters. If you've decided to remove your factory box and then upgrade to BMS or other open air intakes, the "passive" air ducts won't supply fresh air to the filters (no vacuum). Adding the scoops with aftermarket intakes reduces the risk of heat soak and improves performance.

To convert factory air ducts from passive to active, air scoops are required (redirecting incoming air by 90 degrees).
