The following two problems can be eliminated by installing a manual cam chain tensioner:
➊ The automatic adjusters can back off when the throttle is suddenly closed at high rpm. This allows the cams to go momentarily out of sync, and can result in bent valves and/or severe engine damage.
➋ The hydraulic tensioners tend to put too much tension on the chain guide at high rpm/high oil pressure, resulting in premature wear.
No matter what the engine does, the cam chain tension will remain constant. A manual cam chain tensioner is a must for any kind of performance riding.
These manual tensioner bodies are CNC-machined from billet aluminum to exact tolerances for a perfect fit.
No more chattering, excessive chain wear or changes in cam tension.

2. Be sure to remove the thin metal gasket from your stock tensioner before installing new one. Adjusting and setting a manual cam chain tensioner does require a certain amount of mechanical ability and understanding of cam chain tension. If you are not comfortable installing, consult a qualified mechanic. Improper tension of a cam chain can cause severe engine damage.
