This NICECNC clutch slave cylinder upgrade kit replaces the original part on LC8 engines. The main features and benefits are:
Features:
- Performance enhancement – The piston design and seals have been significantly improved to prevent leaks and ensure smoother clutch operation. This enhances riding comfort and reliability.
- Material and manufacturing – The CNC-machined part is made from 6061 aluminum alloy, lightweight yet robust. The hard-anodized surface increases wear and corrosion resistance and gives the clutch system an attractive appearance.
- Advanced piston seal – The seals are made from a specially developed rubber compound, ensuring excellent sealing performance and durability. The material is compatible with both mineral oil and DOT 4 brake fluid.
- Guided piston – The piston is supported by a special carrier plate to prevent wear and ensure proper alignment. This improves lever smoothness and extends product life.
- Reduced lever effort – Designed to reduce the force required to operate the clutch lever, decreasing rider fatigue and improving clutch feel.
- Non-serviceable design – This component is not intended for user maintenance.
Included accessories:
- 1 x 8 mm steel ball
- 2 x sealing washers
- 2 x M6 x 45 mm screws
- 2 x M6 x 50 mm screws
- 2 x M6 x 55 mm screws
New product recommendation:
NICECNC also manufactures a new carrier plate as a replacement for the OEM plastic version.
This improved clutch slave cylinder offers riders with LC8 engines enhanced reliability, performance, and aesthetics.
Installation instructions:
Required tools and accessories:
Tools: 5 mm Allen wrench, 14 mm open-end wrench, 9 mm open-end wrench, 8 mm socket wrench, Phillips screwdriver
Additional items: Suitable fluid catch container, at least 250 ml of approved clutch fluid (check compatibility: some models use mineral oil, others DOT 4)
Preparation:
Fluid selection:
Always use the recommended clutch fluid to avoid damage.
Positioning:
Ensure the motorcycle is upright or slightly tilted so air can escape during bleeding.
Read the instructions:
Make sure you fully understand the procedure before starting.
Installation steps:
Work area:
Remove the necessary fairings to gain full access.
Determine the correct screw length and set aside unused screws.
Removing existing component:
Wrap the old slave cylinder with a cloth.
Loosen the banjo bolt to prevent fluid loss and use a catch container to avoid spills.
Remove the existing slave cylinder and store it well wrapped to avoid leaks.
Preparing the new slave cylinder:
Insert the 8-mm steel ball into the piston with some grease.
Keep the KTM seal for reuse if applicable.
Transferring components:
Quickly transfer the banjo bolt and line from the old to the new cylinder to minimize bleeding time.
Use new copper washers to ensure a good seal when installing the screw.
Installing the new cylinder:
Make sure all seals and components are installed correctly.
Watch the fluid level in the KTM master cylinder, as it has a smaller capacity.
On some models, the chain guard must be installed before connecting the hydraulic hose.
Bleeding the system:
Attach a hose to the bleed valve of the slave cylinder and place the other end into a fluid container.
Operate the clutch lever about six times and hold it firmly on the last pull.
Loosen and retighten the bleed valve while continuing to hold the lever firmly. Repeat this process until the clutch feels firm.
Final check:
- Ensure the fluid level in the master cylinder is sufficient to prevent air from entering.
- Make sure all screws and connections are tightened securely.
- You can optionally pre-fill the new slave cylinder with a syringe to shorten the bleeding time.
Final note:
- Do not press the piston after filling to avoid fluid splashes and possible injuries.
- Enjoy the performance boost of your new NICECNC clutch slave cylinder with these instructions.
